Terms of Service

Last updated August 2026

Rogue Artisan (rogueleather.ca) is operated by Gordon Mielke as a sole proprietorship based in East Vancouver, BC, Canada. By commissioning a piece or using this site, you're agreeing to the terms below.

Commissions

Every piece is made to order based on a design and price agreed on with you before any cutting begins. No deposit is taken until you've approved the final design and price. Once a deposit is paid and cutting starts, the refund policy applies.

Pricing

Prices shown on this site (including in the "Build Your Own" widget) are estimates for standard options and are confirmed as a firm quote once your specific build is finalized. Custom requests outside the standard options (unusual hides, non-standard sizing, etc.) may be quoted separately.

Ownership and use of designs

If you provide a reference photo, sketch, or design idea for your commission, you're responsible for having the right to use it. Rogue Artisan may photograph finished commissions for portfolio and marketing use (site gallery, Instagram) unless you request otherwise when placing your order.

Care and durability

Leather is a natural material that ages and patinas with use — see the care guidance on the homepage. Normal wear, scuffing, and darkening over time are not defects.

Limitation of liability

Rogue Artisan is a one-person workshop. To the extent permitted by law, liability for any commissioned piece is limited to the amount paid for that piece. Rogue Artisan is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of a commissioned item.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
